1. Hjh Maimunah (Jalan Pisang)

Dozens of Malay and Indonesian dishes behind glass: rendang, grilled fish, sambal goreng. Point, pay, find a seat.
💡 Go before noon for the full spread. Closed on Sundays. Beef rendang and tahu telur are the ones to get.
2. Bismillah Biryani

Daily 11:30–20:30
Rice and meat sealed and cooked together, so the rice does the talking. Lighter and drier than the usual gravy-soaked plate.
💡 Mutton and kid goat go first. The shop states it is Muslim-owned and operated; it does not claim MUIS certification.
3. Srisun Express (Serangoon Garden)
Order: Prata, murtabak, biryani

Open 24 hours
A 24-hour prata house across from the famous Chomp Chomp hawker centre. When Chomp Chomp closes, the night moves here.
💡 Try a tissue prata (a sweet, paper-thin cone) for the table. The chain's own site says it is halal-certified.
4. The Dim Sum Place

Har gow, siew mai made with chicken and prawn, and salted egg custard buns, a few doors from Sultan Mosque.
💡 Order the molten salted egg buns and the roast duck. Book on weekends. Late kitchen on Friday and Saturday.
5. Positano Risto
Order: Italian pasta and steak

Sun–Thu 12:00–22:00; Fri–Sat 12:00–23:00
A date-night Italian restaurant on the pretty street facing Sultan Mosque. No alcohol anywhere on the menu.
💡 The restaurant says it is 100% Muslim-owned and uses only halal ingredients; it does not claim a MUIS cert. Book ahead.
6. Carousel
Order: International buffet

Seafood on ice, carving stations, local dishes and a long dessert line. The hotel says all its food is MUIS-certified.
💡 Book early; it fills up. Dinner runs 18:30–21:30 according to the hotel. Good for a team dinner with mixed diets.
7. Peppermint
Order: Buffet with live stations

A bright, plant-filled hotel restaurant whose buffet stations and kitchen are halal-certified. A short walk from Suntec and MBS.
💡 The simplest halal answer for a group dinner near the conference. Reserve for dinner on conference days.
8. The Landmark
Order: International and local buffet

A large buffet hall above Bugis that locals book for weddings and office dinners. Lots of choice, zero pretence.
💡 Its site says it is a halal-certified restaurant. Book for dinner and for groups. Two seatings a day; none in between.
9. All Things Delicious
Order: Bakes, brunch and local plates

A home-grown bakery cafe: scones, cakes, all-day brunch and good coffee. A sensible place to open a laptop for an hour.
💡 Good for a breakfast meeting before the Kampong Glam shops open. Try the scones and the sticky date pudding.
10. Old Chang Kee Coffee House @ Rex
Order: Curry puffs, nasi lemak

Old Chang Kee began as a stall near the Rex cinema in 1956. This sit-down branch is on that same street. Order the curry'O.
💡 The company says all its outlets have been MUIS-certified since 2005. A curry puff and a kopi make a S$5 breakfast.
