Singapore parties in clusters: Clarke Quay for the big clubs, Marina Bay for the glossy ones, Boat Quay and Raffles Place for the after-work crowd, and Sentosa for daylight. Most clubs only open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, so check the day before you queue.

1. Zouk Singapore

The longest-running name in local clubbing, now in Clarke Quay with two more rooms, Capital and Phuture, under the same roof.
💡 Open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday only. Over-18s, closed shoes, and no singlets or slippers at the door.

Right beside Zouk in Clarke Quay, with a darker room and a slightly older crowd. Handy when Zouk is shut.
💡 Open Wednesday to Saturday from 22:00. Thursday is its night, since the neighbours are closed.
3. Level Up

A Clarke Quay bar full of arcade machines that turns into a party as the night goes on. Nobody has to be cool here.
💡 Open every night, till 03:00 on Friday and Saturday. Good first stop for a group that has only just met.
4. Cuba Libre Café & Bar

Rum, mojitos and a band that makes even conference people dance. Easy to walk into, hard to leave before 2am.
💡 The band gets going after 22:00. Come in a group and stand near the stage. No need to book on weeknights.
5. MARQUEE Singapore

Three storeys, a huge screen and an indoor Ferris wheel. Big-name DJs and prices to match.
💡 Open Friday, Saturday and the first Wednesday of the month, which is 7 Oct. Buy tickets ahead for headline nights.
6. CÉ LA VI Singapore

The bar on the 'boat' on top of the hotel, 57 floors up. The view is the entire point, and it delivers.
💡 There is a cover charge in the evening that includes a drink. Dress smart; no flip-flops. Go at sunset, stay for the lights.
7. LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

Italian-American food and a terrace on top of Marina Bay Sands. Weekends get loud well before dessert.
💡 Drinks stop at 23:30 on weeknights and 01:00 on Friday and Saturday, so start here and move on.

A restaurant-lounge up front and a proper dance floor at the back, built around the sound system. For people who came for the music.
💡 Club nights are Friday to 03:00 and Saturday 22:00 to 04:00. Check the programme first; the line-up changes weekly.

A small, dark room up a shophouse staircase with a loyal crowd and no interest in bottle service.
💡 Open Wednesday to Saturday from 22:30. The door is easy to miss between the riverfront restaurants.
10. Offtrack

Vinyl on the wall, a tuned sound system and DJs who dig for records from around the region. Dancing happens, quietly at first.
💡 Not a club, so go early and eat here too. Open to midnight on weeknights and 01:00 on Friday and Saturday.
11. Skinny's Lounge

Cheap-ish drinks, loud singing and no dress code, in a district of suits. Where bartenders go after their own shifts.
💡 Closed on Mondays. It fills up after midnight. Do not expect a cocktail list; do expect someone singing Bon Jovi.
12. Tanjong Beach Club

Daybeds, a pool and DJs on Sentosa's quietest beach. This is where Singapore does its drinking in daylight.
💡 It is a day venue and shuts by 20:00 or 21:00. Book a daybed for weekends and bring swimwear.
